Why Prednisone needs caution
Prednisone is commonly prescribed to dogs, but an excessive dose can cause marked thirst, urination, panting, stomach irritation, and changes in blood sugar or immune function.
A one-time extra prescribed dose is often less concerning than repeated overdosing or a large bottle raid. Other NSAIDs or steroids increase stomach-ulcer risk.
