The word ginger can describe a root, a sweet, a drink or a concentrated supplement. They are not interchangeable. Identify the actual product before deciding what information applies, and do not use a ginger snack as a home treatment for a sick dog.
Name the product before the ingredient

Neither makes every ginger-flavored food suitable. Start with the jar, recipe or bottle that was actually used, not a search for a similar-looking brand.

Keep the cookie separate from the spice

Do not borrow a human supplement schedule
The instructions on a human bottle are not canine directions. A capsule count, a weight of extract and a kitchen spoonful of ground root are different measurements. Bring the complete label to the prescribing veterinarian, including other ingredients and any additional products the dog already receives.
Why the medical history still matters

Write a useful account of an accidental exposure
Record the product name and form, time, maximum amount missing and the dog's current signs. If a bottle was chewed, count the lid and packaging as well as capsules. Say clearly when the quantity is unknown. Do not spend time converting an uncertain amount into a falsely precise spoon measure.
Keep three storage areas distinct
